39 Weeks & Counting...

March 24th Appointment...
Nothing has changed. 39 weeks and nothing even starting to happen...baby is still active & healthy though. Now it's just time to hurry up and wait! Our doctor seemed like he was shocked to find that my cervix hasn't even started to thin, but assured us not to worry. Of course he knows how excited we are getting, so he apologized when he said I should schedule another appointment in 1 week. It was sort of funny & not really a surprise to me to hear the news. The doctor went on to say that he's been wrong in the past & if anything changes to let him know...gotta love the optimism! :) April baby here we come. My goal was to get through the weekend since we had company coming over for 1 more work weekend. So far we made it! Cory & I spent some quality time watching a chic flick, putting baby furniture together & getting my car ready for the carseat. We were able to celebrate his upcoming 21st birthday too!

It's now Sunday night, so at this point anything can happen!  Nate & I continued working around the house today. He was mostly working on the upstairs, while I tried to do laundry & some cleaning the main floor.  We even got to go on a date tonight! After running errands at Menards & Target, we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings for an excellent dinner...Ultimate Nachos & 3 different types of Hot/Spicy Wings..YUMMY!! :)

Here's some pics of the weekend:
39 weeks & 2 days

Windsor doesn't know what to think of all the loud noises around the house with the construction taking place...he's sure in for a big surprise!
Changing table set up = check
Swing Assembled = check
Bouncy Seat Assembled = check
Ready for baby = ????
The guys doing a "dry fit" of the banister...Nate stripped what seemed like hundreds of layers of paint off the  spindles & banister, sanded everything like crazy & got it ready for stain/varnish.. A project that took countless hours. The finished project should be up soon!
Grandpa "H" & Nate
We are so thankful for all of the help & advice we've gotten from our "this old house" experts!
Soon to be Great-Grandma Jean hard at work...all new doors upstairs!
Who has the bigger belly?! I think Cory is even trying to push his out!
Grandma Julie always happy to work. Wish I had her energy!

38+ Weeks

Just wanted to update you...

Well, after our appointment (Thursday March 17th) it looks like we might just have ourselves an April baby after all. Everything went well, baby is healthy, active & a little stubborn! Last week we had to do an ultrasound to see if baby was still breech & luckily it had moved to head down. When we were in on Thursday I got checked (no I'm not dilated at all & the cervix hasn't started thinning either) the doctor thought baby might have flipped again, so we had to do another ultrasound. Luckily, it's head is down...it was just very active & not wanting to let us know it's position! We'll go back in a few days (March 24th) and see if anything has changed.

Since there was no sign of baby coming anytime soon, Friday I had a girls night with my mom. We went for pedicures, shopping, dinner & watched a chic flick, while Nate continued to work on the house. (I have such a good husband!!) We had a blast & now I have cute toes again...just in time for delivery! :)

We spent the remainder of the weekend working on the house. It's getting closer!! The walls are painted, baseboards are up & doors are in. There's not too much left...finish painting the bedroom doors & some of the trim, and then it's time for carpet! The upstairs should be "liveable" within about 2 weeks, just in time for some company!

I'll try to update everyone again after my doctors appointment this week, unless baby decides to come early!

37 Weeks

I am now 37 weeks and we're getting very anxious for Baby Marx to arrive! We were in to the doctor on Thursday for my first check. Nothing is really happening yet, but we had some good news...baby is no longer breech! We had to do an ultrasound to see for sure, and the head is down. What a relief! The doctor doesn't anticipate anything will happen in the next week & told me to relax. He was quite serious when he told me not to over-do-it...apparently some women do way too much before they go into labor & then don't have enough energy to get through all the labor/birth. Guess I'll just have to relax! :)

The drywall is up and painting started this weekend. I can't believe what a transformation has taken place! The picture below is in Baby Marx's nursery...we can't wait to meet you!! :)
